Meadow of Gold

Sonamarg

Sonamarg, literally meaning "Meadow of Gold," sits at an elevation of 2,800 meters and serves as the gateway to Ladakh via the Zoji La pass. This stunning destination is known for its magnificent Thajiwas Glacier, pristine alpine lakes, and vast meadows surrounded by snow-capped peaks. It's one of the most visually dramatic landscapes in all of Kashmir.

Why Visit Sonamarg?

Sonamarg is where the Kashmir Valley meets the rugged terrain of Ladakh. The Thajiwas Glacier, accessible by a short pony ride, is one of the few glaciers in India that can be visited easily. The Sindh River runs through the valley, and the surrounding mountains create a landscape so stunning it has to be seen to be believed. It's a trekker's paradise and a photographer's dream.
